The Archaeology Heritage Lab is creating a digital heritage conservation project centered on People’s Park in Berkeley, California. This work focuses on the neighborhood that existed before the University of California, Berkeley’s 1968 first attempt to build student housing in what became a public park through a now historical example of civil disobedience and student advocacy.

The Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association also has a photo essay series chronicling the houses that used to occupy this location before it became a park: Before People’s Park
